Gifts to this project will increase our capacity to serve more people and meet a significant increase in need on campus. The Ranger Co-Op is committed to providing equitable access to our services to all students. Funds would help convert the entrance to Colorado ADA-accessible standards by installing an automatic door control that would provide physical access to the facility from the public sidewalk to give every college student the same equal opportunity to receive our services.
With the funds from this project, we will improve the inventory management system to allow accurate estimates of food and clothing items available at any given time. Knowing the number of goods purchased, donated, and distributed helps oversight on our product performance, reduces food and funding waste and ensures adequate food and clothing needs are met.
We also aim to purchase unique Share Meals technology for the Regis-Wide campus community. Share Meals is dedicated to ensuring all college students are food secure. Share Meals is a digital platform where students can share meal swipes and post extra food from clubs or meeting events with students who are food insecure. It works in real-time, based on the individual's location. Students will be able to find extra food within a five-minute walking distance.
In addition, the Ranger Co-Op offers professional clothing to students who are in the process of building their careers, providing free, gently used clothing to help make access to obtaining professional attire and professional success more accessible to all students. Funds would go towards purchasing new undergarments (t-shirts, socks, underwear, etc.) or gift cards to allow students to buy new professional clothing that may not be available in their size within the professional clothing closet.
