Internships provide a way for students to figure out how to do what matters. Moreover, internships help students develop the career readiness skills that complement their Regis degree.
For these reasons, Regis encourages all students to complete an academic internship, but many students are unable to do so. Common barriers to participation include having to work to pay for college, financial responsibilities to family, and transportation issues. These barriers disproportionately impact first-generation students, low-income students, and students of color. Over the last few years, about 70% of academic internships completed by Regis College students were unpaid. Your donation today will provide funding for currently unpaid interns and help ensure more equitable access to high-quality, paid, work-based learning experiences so that we can continue to address the racial and socio-economic disparities in unpaid internship participation. Your gift on Regis Gives Day will help us reach our fundraising goal of $7000 allowing us to establish the Internships for the Common Good fund and offer a paid internship to three students interning at non-profits or schools. This also means that three organizations will benefit by having a qualified Regis intern for a full semester, enabling them to build their own capacity to impact our community. Donate to the Internships for the Common Good Fund on Regis Gives Day with the knowledge that your gift will make a difference for a Regis student intern and for Day is a day to support students to do what matters.
