Magis House – An Intentional Living Community, Rooted in Ignatian Spirituality

In the Fall of 2020, University Ministry opened the doors to Magis House, an intentional living community rooted in Ignatian spirituality and dedicated to accompanying students who are “seeking more” in their faith journey at Regis University. Magis House residents explore questions of faith, vocation, and relationship with God while living navigating the joys and challenges of intentional community life. The members of Magis House receive regular support from University Ministry staff, including guidance and formation in Ignatian thought and spirituality in order to animate this spirituality in their daily lives.

After hosting two communities, Magis House went on a hiatus. As we look to reopen the doors of Magis House, we recognize the need to provide financial support for students choosing to live in this intentional community; our desire is that students will not need to choose between more affordable housing options and the spiritual formation opportunity offered by Magis House. Your support on Regis Gives Day will help us to make Magis House available to any interested student.

Every gift contributes to the magis of Magis House.

  • $50 provides groceries for a “family dinner” prepared together, as a community at home
  • $300 would provide groceries for one student for one semester
  • $1300 would cover the cost of a two-night silent Ignatian retreat at Sacred Heart Retreat House for the community
  • $4500 would cover the cost of housing for one resident for a full semester

"As a student, Magis House was a transformative space for me to be able to learn and live alongside others. Now as a staff member I am able to look back and know that the Ignatian Spirituality practices that are infused into my work in ministry were encountered within the caring community that Magis House fostered.”

—Taylor Vanasse (Class of 2022, Magis House resident during 2020-2021) and current University Ministry Associate
