Internships are more than just a chance for students to gain hands-on experience-they are an opportunity to discover passions, clarify purpose and understand strengths and values. Internships apply what students have learned in the classroom to real-world settings, while developing the career readiness skills that set up lifelong success.
However, many students face significant barriers when it comes to pursuing internships. For first generations and low-income students, the challenge is often not a lack desire or ambition, but the financial and logistical obstacles that stand in their way. The need to work to support their education, the prevalence of unpaid or underpaid internships and transportation challenges can make internships feel out of reach.
By supporting Internships of Common Good, you are helping break down these barriers. Your gift will provide students with the opportunity to earn the Denver minimum wage ($18.81/ hour) for 120 hours of meaningful internship experience over the academic semester. This funding will help cover the cost of living and transportation, allowing students to focus on learning, growing and connecting with professionals in their field.
With your support, we can ensure that all students-regardless of their background-have the chance to develop the skills, network and confidence needed to succeed in their careers. Help us create a more equitable future, one internship at a time.
