About

At Regis University, we believe in second chances, and we’re offering incarcerated individuals in Colorado the opportunity to transform their lives through education. The Inside/Out program brings together up to 15 incarcerated students with 10 Regis students in a groundbreaking virtual classroom, creating an environment where learning and personal growth thrive. Instructors travel between the prison and campus to provide both in-person and virtual instruction, ensuring a rich, dynamic educational experience for all.

Over the course of a year, incarcerated students earn 18 college credits toward a Bachelor of Arts degree—credits that open doors to brighter futures. Even after release, they can continue their studies with the help of a special scholarship program at Regis. For these students, education isn’t just about earning a degree; it’s about gaining the skills and confidence to rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to society.

What makes this program truly transformative is the powerful exchange between incarcerated (inside) students and non-incarcerated (outside) students. It’s a radically diverse learning environment that fosters empathy, understanding and mutual respect. Outside students gain the opportunity to learn from those who have faced deep challenges, while inside students receive the support and guidance they need to grow and thrive academically.

This education journey offers more than just a degree-it offers hope. Studies show that individuals who participate in prison education programs are 43% less likely to return to prison. Education is a proven tool in reducing recidivism, and with your support, we can make a lasting impact on these students’ futures.

When inside students are released, they're provided with a computer, ensuring they can continue their studies seamlessly as outside students. Your donation directly supports tuition for incarcerated students, helping them stay on course and empowering them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Every dollar you contribute brings hope, opportunity and education to someone who needs it most. Your gift is not just an investment in education; it’s an investment in a person’s future—a future that will be shaped by their newfound knowledge and the chance to contribute to the greater good. Join us in this transformative journey. Your support today could change a life forever.
