Engaged Scholar Activist Program

For years, the Engaged Scholar Activist (ESA) Program has been one of Regis University’s most powerful engines for student transformation. It is more than a work‑study job – it is a semester‑over‑semester experience that blends mentorship, leadership development, and hands‑on partnerships with local justice‑focused organizations. ESA students do not just learn about change; they help create it.

Yet each year, fewer Regis students receive Work Study Awards – even as the demand for meaningful, justice‑based work on our campus and in our community grows. Many committed students complete the FAFSA or ASSET/CASFA, only to discover they do not qualify for the support they need to participate.

A gift of just $20 helps sustain opportunities for Engaged Scholar Activists to engage in impactful projects such as:

• Organizing a vigil in solidarity with individuals held in the Aurora immigration detention facility

• Mentoring first‑year students beginning their service journeys through our En/Route program

• Listening deeply to the stories of community members experiencing homelessness and integrating that learning into academic coursework

• Working to decolonize service learning and challenge ingrained structures
