Just Rehab: RegisCARES Physical Therapy and Tepeyac Community Access & Equity Initiative

Every year in Denver, thousands of residents in underserved neighborhoods live with pain that should be treatable but is not. Not because physical therapy does not exist, but because for many families, it is simply out of reach. Language barriers, high costs, and long travel times turn basic rehabilitation care into an impossible hurdle.

The consequences are heartbreaking: preventable pain becomes chronic, small injuries become lifelong disabilities, and crowded emergency rooms absorb what a single, timely clinic visit could have resolved.

Just Rehab is changing that.

A collaboration between the Regis University School of Rehabilitative Sciences (SRHS) Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, RegisCARES Clinic, and Tepeyac Community Health Center, Just Rehab brings bilingual, culturally grounded physical therapy services directly into a clinic the Latino community already knows and trusts. No barriers. No shame. No impossible logistics – just care.

Skilled RegisCARES clinicians provide hands-on treatment while mentoring DPT students who gain invaluable real-world experience in equity-centered health care. Together, they are closing a critical gap in access to rehabilitation – one patient, one family, one neighborhood at a time.
