About 💡

The Ignatian Spirituality Program (ISP) at Regis University is carrying forward a nearly 500‑year spiritual tradition – one that continues to change lives in profound ways.

After decades of serving the Denver community through Saint Ignatius of Loyola Church, the ISP found its new home at Regis University in September 2023. Its mission remains simple yet transformative: to walk with individuals as they deepen their relationship with God through spiritual direction and, most especially, through the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius.

For Jesuits, the Spiritual Exercises are the foundation of their formation. But their impact reaches far beyond the Society of Jesus. Generations of laypeople, ministry leaders, and seekers have discovered through the Exercises a renewed sense of clarity, purpose, and spiritual freedoman encounter that shapes how they live, lead, and serve others.

As the number of Jesuits decreases, the need for well‑formed Ignatian spiritual directors has never been greater.

Today, lay and religious women and men are stepping into this mission, offering guidance rooted in their own transformative experience of the Exercises. These are individuals who feel called to accompany others through one of the most meaningful spiritual journeys a person can undertake.

The Ignatian Spirituality Program exists so that this kind of accompaniment – deeply personal, deeply human, and deeply neededremains accessible. ISP spiritual directors commit to a rigorous three‑year formation process that includes academic study, supervised practice, and ongoing spiritual development. They serve out of generosity and faith, offering their time and expertise largely unpaid.

Their ministry changes lives – and those lives, in turn, help transform our world.

But sustaining this mission requires resources. The Ignatian Spirituality Fund, separate from the University’s operating budget, makes it possible for individuals to experience the Spiritual Exercises, for new directors to be formed, and for the Ignatian tradition to thrive at Regis for generations to come.

Your support ensures that anyone seeking a deeper relationship with God has someone to walk with them. By giving to the Ignatian Spirituality Fund, you help keep this centuries‑old tradition alive, vibrant, and accessible. You make it possible for more people to encounter the freedom, joy, and clarity that the Spiritual Exercises inspire.
