About 💡

Science in the Community is transforming how Denver learns, explores, and experiences STEM. Through hands-on programs for children, families, and adults, Regis College students, faculty, and staff bring curiosity to life – right here on campus and throughout our neighborhoods.

Every year, our team hosts a series of vibrant, inquiry-based learning experiences, including Science Sunday, the Rangers Empowering Girls in STEM (REGIS) Research summer camp, and family science nights at local schools. These programs not only spark wonder in our community – they empower Regis students to step into leadership as educators, role models, and scientists.

Science Sunday is a free, campus-wide celebration that invites community members of all ages to experiment, build, observe, and discover. Dozens of hands-on STEM activities created and led by Regis undergraduate and graduate students fill our campus with excitement and possibility. Your support helps us provide materials and send exploration kits home with families, extending the learning long after the day is over.

Our REGIS Research summer camp welcomes middle‑schoolers who thrive in a girl-centered learning environment and are ready to explore STEM in meaningful ways. Using an inquiry-driven curriculum, campers design experiments, test hypotheses, and take part in authentic research guided by Regis faculty and STEM-major counselors. We consistently see campers gain confidence, discover role models, and return year after year. Because we believe cost should never be a barrier to opportunity, donations help us offer full and partial scholarships which open the door to more young scientists.

Not every family can make it to campus, so we bring STEM directly to local schools through family science nights. Regis students and faculty lead engaging science activities that ignite curiosity across generations. Currently, many schools rely on parent‑teacher associations to fund these events, but donor support allows us to offer science nights to schools that otherwise could not afford them, ensuring families in all neighborhoods can experience the joy and discovery of STEM learning.

When you invest in Science in the Community, you support two powerful outcomes: you expand access to high-quality, hands-on STEM education for families across Denver, and you help Regis students grow as leaders, mentors, and changemakers in their fields. Together, we can fuel curiosity, open doors, and build a brighter STEM future for our community.
