About

In this innovative global healthcare service project, Regis University pre-professional healthcare students travel to Coban, Guatemala to provide critical healthcare services for a local indigenous Guatemalan community. Pre-medical, pre-dental, nursing, and pharmacy students travel with eight volunteer medical providers to run a fully functional primary care clinic.

Students gain valuable experience in the fundamentals of primary care and learn about Guatemalan culture. The program supports the clinic year-round helping to improve health and life expectancy outcomes in the region.

A gift to the Guatemala Interfaith Medical Service Project will enable Regis to continue to support student participation in the program and will help provide necessary medical service equipment and healthcare resources to the citizens of Coban, Guatemala.

Below are just a few examples of what your gift could support:

  • A gift of $50 may help provide a few weeks' worth of diapers or one basic medical kit for a Guatemalan child
  • A gift of $100 gift would cover the cost of a home water filter for three families
  • A gift of $500 could cover airfare for one healthcare student
  • A gift of $1,000 could cover the better part of one student’s stay in Guatemala
