The Ignatian Spirituality Program (ISP) has been offering individuals life-changing experiences grounded in the rich tradition of Ignatian spirituality since its launch at Regis in September 2023. Originating in the early 2000s at Saint Ignatius of Loyola Church in Denver, ISP now brings the powerful practice, continuing a legacy that has inspired generations.
The Spiritual Exercises lie at the heart of Jesuit formation and mission, shaping the lives of Jesuits and all who work closely with them. For nearly 500 years, these Exercises have grounded and transformed those who seek a deeper, active relationship with God in Christ. However, as the number of Jesuits decreases, the call to carry on this legacy is now being answered by both lay and religious individuals-people who have personally experienced the power of the Spiritual Exercises and are dedicated to guiding others on this transformative journey.
The ISP offers these life-changing experiences to individuals, empowering them to cultivate a deeper relationship with God through spiritual direction and the Exercises. But it doesnβt stop there: once participants have experienced this transformation, they are inspired to live out their faith in the world, making a profound impact on those around them. The formation of spiritual directors in the ISP is a rigorous, three-year process combining academic study of Ignatian spirituality with practical, supervised training. These directors are committed to walking with others on their spiritual journey, offering their time and expertise largely on a volunteer basis, driven by a deep desire to serve. Their work is nothing short of life-giving, yet it requires significant financial support.
The ISP is funded through the Ignatian Spirituality Fund, which is separate from the university's budget and relies on the generosity of donors. Your contribution can make a lasting impact, enabling us to continue this mission of spiritual transformation, helping to bring the profound gifts of the Spiritual Exercises to those who seek them.
With your support, the Ignatian Spirituality Program can contribute to nurture the souls of those who are seeking a deeper connection to God, inspiring them to carry that transformation into the world. Join us in sustaining and growing this transformative work for years to come.
